Paintball Supplies Guide

Before diving headlong into the sport, there are some basic paintball supplies you will need in addition to your marker, paintballs and a mask. This article will cover some of the most commonly needed paintball supplies that every shooter should keep with them. Some of these supplies can be kept in your car or gear bag, while other need to be kept with you at all times.

Needed Paintball Supplies Overview:

Synthetic Oil
Yes, you will have to lube your marker in order to keep it functioning properly. Just like a real gun, paintball guns have metal parts that move very rapidly together creating friction and without proper lubrication you will damage your gun and it will wear out very quickly. Make sure you buy a quality synthetic oil that is designed specifically for paintball applications.

Extra Replacement Batteries
Many high performance hoppers are electric and run off of a battery. These hoppers are a great asset for making your gun more reliable and allowing it to shoot faster, but they use a lot of power. A hopper battery may only last a few hours, so it’s a good idea to carry some extras among your paintball supplies. Also if you have a optical site on your weapon that runs off a batter, then you might want to carry a replacement battery for it in case it dies during a game.

Tools and Owners Guide
Occasionally your paintball gun will jam or break or just need to be cleaned and you will have to disassemble it. For this you will need some basic tools including a variety of Allen wrenches. It is also a good idea to keep your manual with you incase you need to refer to it if there is a problem with your marker. This is one of your paintball supplies that can stay in your car until needed.

Extra mask or backup lens
Your paintball gear will wear out over time, and you never know when your face mask lens could crack or get too scratched up to see out of. It is therefore very important that you have either a back up mask or set of goggles or if your mask supports interchangeable lenses then have replacement lens or two on hand. It is also good to be proactive about replacing your mask lens. Do it before it breaks, not after.

Cleaning Squeegee
The squeegee is a patch that you run down the barrel of your gun or marker to clean out any debris, dirt or paint that may have collected in there. A clean and lubed barrel is crucial to effectively shoot paintballs accurately as the more friction the paintball encounters in the barrel, the slower it will travel.

The above items should be a part of every enthusiasts paintball supplies.
