Paintball Field Layouts Guide

One of the most important factors of paintball that makes the game more fun and challenging is the location and layout of the paintball field. There are many types of paintball field layouts however they can be divided in two basic styles: woods fields and speedball fields.

Woods Fields: These are perhaps the most favored areas for a paintball game as they offer a lot of creativity as far as game strategy is concerned. For instance, the players can indulge in a game of paintball with guerilla warfare and military tactics; they can pretend to be snipers when playing in such areas and the fun just increases by the fact that no two woods fields are similar. These fields can be further divided into the following types:

Forest Fields: These are usually all-natural playing areas. The paintball field layout in this case is not made of any artificial bunkers; the trees are tall grass suffice as bunkers. However, you would often see players manipulate these fields by stacking leaves and logs to create cover. Hybrid Field: The layout of these fields is a mix of that of a speedball field and that of a straight forest field. A hybrid field may also be just another forest field with artificial bunkers such as car hoods, tires, or other types of junk set up throughout the woods.

Hay Field: These are usually made up of huge stacks of hay and are the least commonly found woods fields.

Speedball Fields: These fields are used for high-paced games. There are a variety of speedball fields and the paintball field layouts of these fields could be either mirrors, that is having the same arrangement of bunkers on both sides, or randomly spread out. Some of the sub-categories of these fields are:
Sup Air Field: These fields consist of ·Sup Air field inflatable bunkers and are mostly used for paintball tournaments. The layout of these fields have quite a few interestingly shaped bunkers, such as snaked ones or the ones that look like Coke cans.

Hyperball Field: The layout of this field is characterized by bunkers made of objects such as boards, car hoods, tires, and tubing.

Spool Fields: These fields consist of large spools that usually hold a huge quantity of wire. The paintball field layouts for spool fields is usually mirrors.

All in all, the different playing fields and paintball field layouts go a long way in making the game more fun and challenging.
