Ceramic Paintball Barrel Guide

To reduce friction and induce a self-cleaning method, the J & J Ceramic paintball marker barrel is made from 6061 T6 aluminum with a hard ceramic and TeflonŽ impregnated coating. The design of this barrel ensures that it is accurate, fast, lightweight, and quiet. Available in 12" and 14" versions for most of the popular paintball guns, the ceramic paintball barrel assures excellent performance.

The list of advantages of the ceramic paintball barrel begins with its great price. At $45, this barrel is definitely much cheaper than its competition. But, this lower price does not mean poor quality. In fact, the speed that the barrel supports is quite amazing. Further, the ceramic paintball barrel is really quiet, accurate, and dependable. It has an unbelievably consistent performance. Add to that the fact that the barrel self cleans. However, even if you want to clean it, the process is very simple in spite of the ports that the barrel has.

In fact, when a 14" ceramic paintball barrel was compared with its rival, a 14" Dye Boomstick, the ceramic barrel won hands down. The ceramic barrel had a 10" unported acceleration length whereas the Boomstick had 7", which reduced the gas efficiency of the Boomstick. Further, the ceramic barrel was found to be much lighter in weight than the Boomstick, less than half the weight of the Boomstick. Moreover, the ceramic barrel is a medium-bore barrel that is tolerant of a greater amount of paint. Also, the large bore of the ceramic barrel led to fewer paint ball breaks in the barrel. And, the self-cleaning feature ensures that the barrel is not a sticky mess after a paint ball break.

As good as it sounds, the ceramic paintball barrel does have its own weak points. The first one is that in the absence of an O-ring, the barrel has the risk of coming loose. Further, although the ceramic paintball barrel is not very fragile, it feels so.

All in all, the ceramic paintball barrel with its good looks and great features is stiff competition for the more expensive paintball barrels such as the Dye Boomstick.
